Massage Therapy

Sophia Gordon

Sophia graduated from the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage in 2012 and the Registered Massage Therapy program at Langara College in 2018.

Having experience in both bodywork and clinical massage, Sophia has an approach that integrates her in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and systemic conditions with her understanding of the other complex factors that influence pain and recovery.

Her treatment style consists of deep flow relaxation, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, breath work and passive and active stretching.

Sophia is always adding further tools to her practice through ongoing education including training to help bridge the gap in care for people recovering from surgeries including mastectomies, top-surgery, and augmentation.

In her free time Sophia enjoys playing pickleball, fitness training, going on forest adventures with her dog, working on her garden and interior design.

Carmens practice is informed by her background in yoga and holds the perspective that self care is an important key to a balanced lifestyle. She believes massage therapy is a powerful tool in managing the physiological effects of stress and chronic conditions.

She has taken continuing education in chronic pain, persons born with uteruses’ pelvic health and pregnancy massage.

Having been a recreational endurance athlete her entire life, massage therapy has played an important role in keeping her moving in her races and adventures, including maintaining her mental health. She is now thrilled to be a part of the Woodland team, supporting her clients to do the same.
